The inaugural Festival of Golf, marks a week-long celebration of inclusivity and the elevation of women’s golf. Commencing on August 26th, this vibrant festival promises an exciting blend of competitive spirit, community engagement, and the joy of the game, inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to join in the excitement, with something for everyone taking place throughout the week.

The Festival of Golf stands as a beacon of inclusivity and unity, echoing the core values of Get Golfing’s mission to make golf accessible to all. With a steadfast commitment to promoting inclusivity, this festival proudly aligns with our ethos, ensuring that every individual, regardless of background or ability, feels embraced and empowered on the course. As we embark on this exhilarating week, participants can anticipate a blend of activities where there is something for everyone to get involved in.

Key Events:

  1. Women’s Golf Championship: The pinnacle of the Festival, the Women’s Golf Championship stands tall as the flagship event on the LET Access Series tour. Boasting the highest prize fund in women’s golf in England this year, a staggering 80,000 euros awaits the winner. This tournament not only showcases the exceptional talent of female golfers but also serves as a beacon of empowerment, inspiring generations to come.
  1. Get Golfing Junior Open: Fueling the dreams of tomorrow’s stars, the Get Golfing Junior Open takes center stage as another flagship event. Linking the tournament to the future generation of golfers, all junior participants receive complimentary membership at Get Golfing sites. With a staggering 15% of all junior golfers in the country already under our wing, we’re proud to be not only nurturing young talent but also fostering a lifelong love for the sport among the younger generation.
  1. Women’s G4D Championship: Breaking new ground, the Women’s G4D Championship proudly stands as the first-ever women’s only disabled golf event. This groundbreaking tournament embodies the spirit of inclusivity and reflects the ethos of Get Golfing – golf for all. By providing a platform for disabled athletes to showcase their talent, this event champions diversity and underscores the belief that golf truly knows no boundaries.
  1. Women’s Golf Championship Invitational: Join us for the Women’s Golf Championship Invitational. This one day invitational is open for all female professionals and elite amateurs. With a £5,000 prize fund, this one-day event offers professionals and elite amateurs an unparalleled opportunity to experience a one day tour level experience.

Don’t Just come down to watch, Come down to play and have fun – Get Golfing Style: 

  1. Glow Golf: Step into a world of neon lights and glowing fairways with Glow Golf!  A unique and unforgettable golfing experience.
  1. Super Sixes: Ready for a fast-paced thrill? Gather your squad for Super Sixes – a high-energy game featuring 6 players, 6 holes, and 60 minutes of non-stop action. 
  1. Single Shot Challenge: Think you have what it takes to master the art of precision? With a massive cash prize up for grabs, every swing counts.
  1. British Long Drive Competition: Unleash your inner power hitter in the British Long Drive Competition! Once again, huge cash prizes are up for grabs.
  1. Foot Golf Series: Combining the best of golf and football, the Foot Golf Series offers a playful twist on the classic game. Grab your boots and navigate your way through specially designed courses, kicking, and putting your way to victory in this fun-filled fusion of golf and football.

Community Initiatives:

In addition to its stellar lineup of events, the Festival of Golf is committed to making a positive impact on the community and the environment. Embracing sustainability, the festival endeavors to achieve Net Zero, implementing eco-friendly practices to minimize its environmental footprint, including the planting of 2,000 tree’s across the Get Golfing community.

Throughout the week, we are proud to announce that we will be supporting local schools in the Welwyn & Hatfield area, hosting our Fun, Food & Golf camps which help to provide Free School Meals to children in need. 

In alignment with our commitment to sustainability and community engagement, activities such as a river and coastline cleanup and tree planting initiatives will be organized, ensuring that the festival leaves a lasting legacy of environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
